The Multimodality Special Interest Group (MM SIG) seeks to build a community of faculty and postgraduate students at the National Institute of Education (NIE) who share an interest in multimodality and education. Through monthly professional sharing, the MM SIG aspires to break institutional silos and promote interdisciplinary learning.
In line with these objectives, Professor Maria Grazia Sindoni, a professor of English Linguistics and Translation from the University of Messina, was invited by the MM SIG to share on her project “European Multimodal and Digital Education for Language Learning”.
The project had spanned three years and involved seven partners from four European countries. It sought to encourage debate on how project work and methods of peer-learning and peer-assessment could improve the understanding and awareness of multiliteracies for students and teachers at any educational level.
The virtual talk was held on 25 March 2021, and attended by 53 participants from NIE and around the world.
