In this issue, we shine a light on the emergence of new learning demands and the efforts at the National Institute of Education to keep pace with the changes. I am sure this is a theme that is close to our hearts, given that the COVID-19 pandemic continues to create havoc in many places around the world even as I write.
Indeed, as many political leaders put it, no country is safe until every other country is safe from the pandemic. As such, every sector of the economy has to continue finding ways to transform the way work is done, knowing that the world would have changed by the time the pandemic is over.
As we showcase the multimodalities of education that have emerged as the result of the pandemic — whether in teacher professional development, assessment, teaching or learning — I think you might agree with me that the overall experience of education has already transformed, perhaps, forever.
