Report Card / OAAS Bags NTU Admin Excellence Award

The Office of Academic Administration and Services (OAAS) at the National Institute of Education has been named one of the recipients of this year’s NTU Admin Excellence Merit Award – an accolade for deserving Management Support Officers whose performance adds value and helps to achieve the University’s goals.

The recognition comes on the back of a 15-month theory-framed, evidence-based and student-centric effort to transform the Student Services Centre (SSC) and improve the service delivery standards by synergising and integrating processes for both front line and back end operations.

Visitors to the SCC’s new location at NIE Block 1 would have immediately noticed the redesigned office and open counters that have been installed for friendlier transactions. Furthermore, the introduction of the new processes have brought about a host of service improvements. These range from shorter waiting and completion times, to the convenience of online transactions (more than 90% of the physical forms are now available online), and the cross deployment and transfer of skills between colleagues.

The NTU Student Experience Survey on students' satisfaction with student services went up 6.6% from 2018 to 2019. At 87.3%, it is one of the highest percentage increases among NTU schools.

Said Associate Professor Lim Kam Ming, Registrar and Deputy Divisional Director, “This has been a great honour for all of us at OAAS. Our goal is to provide a one-stop service centre to our students and alumni, and we are excited about the improvements that have recently come about. This award has been the cherry on the cake—it has motivated us to do even better for all our stakeholders.”

Congratulations to our OAAS colleagues for attaining the award!
