The 5th Asia-Pacific Society for Computers in Education (APSCE) International Conference on Computational Thinking and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Education (CTE-STEM 2021) was held virtually from 2 to 4 June 2021.
Hosted by NIE, CTE-STEM 2021 builds on the successes of the previous four Computational Thinking conferences held in Hong Kong, while providing a global forum for sharing and disseminating ideas related to Computational Thinking and STEM development.
Delivering the opening remarks as this year’s Guest of Honour was Mr Chan Chun Sing, the Minister for Education (Singapore). The forum also featured an opening address by NTU President, Professor Subra Suresh, the programme highlights include Teachers' and Students' Forums and a panel discussion on “Computational Thinking, Digital Literacy and AI Readiness in University Education” moderated by the NIE Director, Professor Christine Goh. The panel members, which comprised the senior leaders of all six autonomous universities in Singapore, were:

- Professor Bernard C Y Tan, Senior Vice Provost (Undergraduate Education), National University of Singapore
- Professor Chua Kee Chiang, Deputy President (Academic) & Provost, Singapore Institute of Technology
