The LEP is a collaboration between the National Institute of Education (NIE) and the Ministry of Education, Singapore. The programme is future-oriented, and focuses on innovation and the creation of new knowledge. It seeks to prepare leaders for a dynamic and fast-changing environment through a series of thought-provoking learning experiences, both locally and internationally, and in-depth dialogue with senior education ministry officials and leaders in various fields.
The LEP also serves a platform to address a range of issues critical to the development of leadership skills. Since its inception in 2000, LEP participants have been able to gain first-hand knowledge on education initiatives by well-established institutes and corporations in Singapore and as well as other countries. This year, the participants examined the educational landscape within the countries of Canada, Estonia, Sweden and Switzerland.
