On 19 August 2019, NIE Graduate Student Club (NIEGSC) organised a campus tour for the new batch of higher degree students. Participants were introduced to the NIE library, sports facilities, and two laboratories under the Natural Sciences and Science Education (NSSE) and Physical Education and Sports Science (PESS) Academic Groups. Dr Cheung Yin Ling, Associate Dean of Outreach and Engagement at NIE’s Office of Graduate Studies and Professional Learning (GPL), talked with the participants over a tea reception. More than 30 new Masters and Doctoral students took part in the event and gave highly positive feedback.
The NIEGSC is a study body dedicated to nurturing a healthy and meaningful learning environment for NIE’s ever-growing graduate student population. The club was initiated by a group of passionate volunteers with support from the GPL, and formalised in February 2019.
