The Humanities and Social Studies Education (HSSE) Academic Group has a number of new faces in its ranks.
Assistant Professor J.J. Zhang is a human geographer specialising in critical tourism studies. He has two main research thrusts: one that deals with tourism, heritage and geopolitics, while the other explores leisure travels and wellbeing amongst the elderly. He is passionate about teaching and enjoys bringing students on field trips to inquire and learn about different landscapes.
Assistant Professor Edward Park is a fluvial geomorphologist interested in tropical rivers in Southeast Asia and South America. At NIE, he hopes to develop physical geography teaching and research programmes, strongly based on fieldworks.
Dr Ho Huu Loc (Josh) is a Post-Doctoral Teaching Fellow, who joined HSSE’s Geography Department from July 2019. He is both enthusiastic about teaching and on exploring new research ideas in the fields of urban water issues and climate change.
