January - March 2018 | Issue 102

BOOM! It’s 2018! In this issue we recapitulate the significant and the momentous that took place in 2017. Its been an amazing year of launches for NIE. From the Net Gen Learners terrace in January to the launch of the Lee Sing Kong endowment fund in August, the institute has been breaking new ground, paving opportunities ahead for all of us at NIE! And if 2017 was marked with launches of significance, then 2018 will definitely be about change. In this issue we are offered valuable insights from Prof Zachary Walker, who talks about the “Transformation of Education Through Technology”. We will also hear from OER and its thoughts on the “Challenge of Change in a Changing System” and learn about our MA student and 2017 Nanyang Alumni Achievement award recipient Reshu Aryal Dhungana who is empowering change in Nepal though her work in education.

In 2003, Nelson Mandela said: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”.

We, my friends will be the spark to educational dynamite in 2018!
