Connecting With Global Education Researchers
The American Educational Research Association (AERA) is the largest national interdisciplinary research association devoted to the scientific study of education and learning. Through annual meetings, AERA convenes and connects scholars worldwide to advance new directions in research and learning. A showcase for groundbreaking education research, AERA annual meetings represent the largest gathering of education researchers in the world.
This year, the annual meeting drew more than 17,000 global education researchers to New York City from 13 to 17 April. NIE was represented at the meeting by a delegation of 20 colleagues, who presented conference papers and posters and took part in round tables and symposiums.
While in New York, the NIE delegates hosted a reception on 14 April as part of an annual tradition. The reception was well attended by some 300 guests and international colleagues, including Professor Andy Hargreaves, President of the International Congress for School Effectiveness and Improvement, and Professor Courtney Cazden from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
