The Office of Education Research (OER) played host to several prominent researchers who were on campus between October and November.
Research Consultants from the US and Israel (1 to 5 October 2018)
Associate Professor Adam Lefstein from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Associate Professor Josh Glazer from George Washington University, and Associate Professor Donald Peurach from University of Michigan’s School of Education were at NIE to share their research expertise on school improvement, educational policy, teacher learning and professional development. Dr Andrew Gibson (1 to 2 November 2018)
Dr Andrew Gibson from Australia’s Queensland University of Technology was at NIE to meet with OER researchers Dr Jennifer Tan, Assistant Dean of Learning Analytics and Knowledge Mobilisation, and Dr Elizabeth Koh, Assistant Dean of Research Support. Dr Gibson’s expertise lies in trans-epistemic abduction, text analytics, learning analytics and trans-disciplinary design.
Dr Joshua Polanin (5 to 9 November 2018)
Dr Joshua Polanin is a Principal Researcher from the American Institutes for Research, whose expertise lies in systematic reviews and meta-analyses. His visit was hosted by Dr Rita Silver, OER’s Associate Dean of Research Design & Integrity.
