盛田味の館 - House of Akio Morita

Akio Morita is the co-founder of Sony. His family is involved in sake, miso and soy sauce production. House of Akio Morita consists of a factory, brewery and a restaurant serving dishes made with these products. Visitors will be able to learn the history of sake and miso production as well as a tour to see how they are made.

Tokoname City Pottery Footpath

This footpath is filled with old traditional houses, workshops and buildings. Over here, you will experience and learn the rich history of ceramics in Tokoname city. You can also purchase handmade ceramic pieces by the artisans here.

Tokoname Tounomori opened on April 1, 2012 with three new facilities: a museum, a ceramics lab, and a training studio. Over there, we had the opportunity to interact with one of the lecturers Mami Kato San. She explained to us the various course which they conduct in the ceramic lab and training studio.

Strawberry Picking

The Aichi Prefecture is home to over ten strawberry farms, and offers the chance of enjoying some strawberry picking from January to May. The variety is called “Akihime”, it is sweet and juicy with a soft skin and low acidity.

Ōsu Kannon

Osu Kannon (大須観音) is a popular Buddhist temple in central Nagoya. Originally built during the Kamakura Period (1192-1333). The main object of worship at the temple is a wooden statue of Kannon, the goddess of mercy. Underneath Osu Kannon's main hall is a Library which contains over 15,000 classic Japanese and Chinese texts, among them are several national treasures.
