Professor Tan Oon Seng delivered the Academic Medicine Education Institution (AM•EI) Tan Yew Hock Distinguished Lecture 2017 at the 3^rd SingHealth Duke-NUS Education Conference held from 29 to 30 September 2017.

The Tan Yew Hock Distinguished Lectures feature renowned experts who share insights on education in Academic Medicine, innovation in pedagogical methods, and educational research. The lecture seeks to enrich the education landscape in Duke-NUS and SingHealth, and enables professionals to exchange ideas at the forefront of healthcare education. The Tan Yew Hock Faculty Development Fund was a gift to AM•EI.

Professor Tan spoke about “Flourishing Learning across Contexts: Some Insights from the Science of Learning” in which he emphasised shifts needed in the pedagogies of learning in light of scientific studies on human learning across multiple disciplines.
